Fono is a Japanese kissa bar-inspired hi-fi lounge and event space designed around the art of listening. Conceived as a series of intimate zones, the space encourages guests to settle in and linger, immersed in an atmosphere shaped by music, materiality, and mood. Vintage mid-century furnishings, expressive wood grains, sculptural lighting, and layered upholstery come together to create a rich sensory experience that feels as good as it sounds.
Expansive walls of floor-to-ceiling drapery not only define the visual identity of the space, but also function as a soft acoustic architecture, enhancing sound quality while deepening the intimacy of the listening experience. Every detail was carefully considered to bring our client’s vision of an atmosphere-driven music venue to life.
Small yet impactful, the washrooms carry a distinct mood of their own. Wrapped in mirror and saturated in colour, these immersive interiors become memorable moments within the larger experience, extending the project’s transportive character throughout the space.
