Hair Republic 2 is situated in the bustling Byward Market of Downtown Ottawa. Functionality, flow, and efficient use of space were heavily considered in the schematic planning process of this project. Custom metalwork and millwork were designed to reflect Hair Republic’s new branding direction while also maximizing use of space. The focal point of of the interior is a custom suspended floral ceiling above the hair wash stations. This concept was developed with the intention of adding a unique and calming element to the hair wash experience. The ceiling is designed to support live and dried floral installations that are changed seasonally - adding an ever evolving organic feature to the space while also creating the opportunity to collaborate with local florists. Lighting suspended above the arrangement is diffused through the florals, creating a comforting and glowing illumination.
