As the Happy Goat Coffee Company expanded its retail locations throughout Ottawa, it was important to ensure that the casual and inviting atmosphere that was developed at their original Laurel Street Cafe was maintained. To achieve this, warm and natural materials such as reclaimed barnboard, and red brick were used. Discarded coffee bean bags from Happy Goat’s roastery were re-purposed in the form of hand-stitched pillows and accent artwork as a means of embedding the company’s roots directly into the fabric of the design.
